MSOs and LCOs violate MIB order by dropping DD channels

In an advisory issued by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on 12th June 2015, all MSOs, LCOs and DTH operators in DAS areas found not carrying the mandatory DD channels (all 23). This will invite a serious action as provided in Cable TV Act and the Rules as well as conditions stipulated in the MSO permission.
As per the order of the I&B Ministry, issued vide 8(12)/2007-BP&L, dated September 6, 2013, it is mandatory for all DTH operators, MSOs and LCOs to carry all Doordarshan channels on their network. But, the DTH operators like- Tata Sky, Dish TV along with MSOs and LCOs are seemed to discard the above order by taking off some of the mandatory DD channels, namely, DD Bharati ,  DD UP, DD MP, DD Bihar, DD Rajasthan , Rajya Sabha TV, Lok Sabha TV and some others.
It has been found that many MSOs and LCOs have stopped carrying mandatory channels notified by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry (I&B) under different notifications, a note posted on the Ministry’s website said this was a violation of Section 8 of the Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act 1995. Non-carriage of mandatory channels was liable to attract Section Il, Section 12 and Section 8 of the Cable Act.
Any violation of Section 8 of the Cable Act shall invite such action as provided in the Cable TV Act and the Rules framed there under as well as the terms and conditions stipulated in the MSO permission, as the case may be.
It is also learnt that the DTH operator, Tata Sky has stopped carrying DD Bharati, India's only channel dedicated to art and culture, from June 13 without any official notice. This is a serious violation to violation of the Government of India rules.
