Conax demonstrates its Conax Contego at Anga Cam 2015 for easy entry into secure multiscreen content delivery

Conax, a part of the Kudelski Group Company and a leader in total service protection for digital TV and entertainment services via broadcast, broadband and connected devices, demonstrated its new and advanced security hub, Conax Contego, supporting a portfolio of leading DRM technologies at AngaCom 2015, taking place from 9th June to 11th June 2015. The highly secure, future-proof and flexible  solution is developed to eliminate operator challenges, amongst others support for browsers which will soon no longer provide NPAPI support - such as Chrome in September. At the show, Conax will also be featuring the pre-integrated Xtend Multiscreen and benchmark entry-level GO Live solution for Over-the-Top content distribution, in addition to displaying the latest products in the CAM portfolio. Conax will be co-exhibiting with Kudelski sister companies, NAGRA and SmarDTV at AngaCom, E11, Hall 10.2
Conax Contego™ unified security hub supports all major distribution technologies and formats including UHD/4K, seamlessly supporting smart cards, cardless, IPTV and advanced multi-DRM and OTT services from a single unified back-end, covering all types of networks and end-user devices.
“The Conax Contego™ unified security hub supports a wide range of DRM solutions with Common Encryption (CENC), for a simplified and cost-effective workflow,” confirms Tom Jahr, EVP Products, Conax. “Through the highly flexible, future-oriented multi-DRM back-end, Conax Contego ensures business rules for content rights can be translated into a wide range of industry leading DRMs. In addition, through Persistent Rights Management (PRM) we offer service providers the unique capability to also deploy a widely endorsed operator-controlled DRM across a vast range of devices. This combination provides ultimate freedom of choice and Conax recommends that operators carefully consider the value of choosing the right DRM to ensure best quality of platform service.”
In markets where nearly 50% of end-users are currently using browsers with Silverlight, Conax is already solving a rapidly upcoming issue for operators by keeping legacy support for Silverlight until the plug-in is removed in all browsers.
Conax Value Chain of solutions at AngaCom
Using Conax’ truly modular approach to a hybrid multiscreen offering, Conax Contego™ unified security hub supports all major distribution technologies and formats including UHD/4K, seamlessly supporting smart cards, cardless, IPTV and advanced multi-DRM and OTT services from a single unified back-end - all designed to support operators of any size; small, medium and large, broadcast and broadband. Participants at AngaCom are invited to see demonstrations of Conax’ new benchmark multi-DRM solution, Conax GO Live™ entry-level, targeted solution for pay-TV operators looking to provide streaming of live channels to iOS and Android devices and Conax Xtend Multiscreen™ cost-efficient, pre-integrated, fast-time-to market solution, enabling any operator to easily add and capitalize on a multiscreen offering.
