4 New Editions of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ TV commercial launched by Minister of State for Tourism and Cultue

Dr Mahesh Sharma, the Minister of State for Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation (independent charges) in the Narendra Modi government has launched 4 new series of the TV commercial-“Atithi Devo Bhava” along with a brochure titled “India- The Land of Yoga” in New Delhi on 19th June. The films have been directed by the noted ad film maker, Shri Prasoon Joshi with an objective to create awareness about the ways of extending hospitality to tourists visiting India. It shows that by adopting an honest and helpful attitude and by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the country, we can create a positive impression in the minds of the tourist visiting the Nation.  Veteran actor Aamir Khan has been roped in once again as the brand ambassador for these impressive films.
The Minister thanked Aamir Khan and Director Prasoon Joshi for making these films and helping in boosting the image of tourism in India. He said that security, hospitality and cleanliness are the main strengths of tourism in India and the Ministry of Tourism is working on a mission mode to achieve these objectives.  He emphasized on promoting India as a 365 days tourist destination as Tourism generates employment in addition to earning foreign exchange.
On the occasion, lyricist and poet Prasoon Joshi said that ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ is the core of our culture and we must promote it as our USP for the purpose of tourism.
The films will be telecast on various television channels and would go a long way in educating people about the importance of tourism and touristic values. This is a further step in augmenting the efforts made by the Ministry of Tourism for promotion of tourism.
