DD to start programme for specially-abled

The public broadcaster Doordarshan is all set to start a new series ‘Tum Dena Saath Mera’ dealing with the issue of acceptance of the specially-abled people on its national channel from November 23. The series will be aired from Monday to Wednesday at 9.30 pm.
Set in culturally rich and colourful rural Punjab, It is a story of two such physically challenged people – a blind girl and a mute boy – and their life, bravely facing troubles and turbulence. The problems are compounded by their inability to communicate with each other freely. The story highlights the social stigma and the mindset of the parents of such children and how through sheer determination and family support, these children make their mark.
