Dish TV studying insolvency proceedings against Videocon promoters

The State Bank of India, according to media reports, will start insolvency proceedings against 12 firms including Videocon Industries and Video Telecom, which has become defunct after its closed operations and sold spectrum to Bharti Airtel.

Airtel awards multi-radio technology deal to Huawei

Airtel, the leading telco, is already using Huawei’s CloudAIR solution to deliver a better 4G experience to its customers. Now it has awarded the multi-radio technology deal to Huawei to better the LTE coverage. Airtel has deployed three radio technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE) on the 900MHz band within an 8.8MHz spectral bandwidth.

UIDAI to issue temporary 16-digit virtual ID to keep Aadhaar number confidential

Sensitized with increasing misuse of Aadhaar number by local e-verifying units, and a report of the Tribune that Aadhaar data of anyone can be bought for just Rs 500, the Aadhaar issuing authority Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is planning to launch Virtual ID for people which will allow Aadhaar holders to generate a 16-digit temporary number. So they would not need to share their actual Aadhaar number to anyone.
