ASCI launches India's first consumer complaint mobile application

India’s first consumer complaint mobile App to address misleading advertisements has been launched by the self regulatory body for the advertising industry, Advertising Standard Council of India (ASCI) recently.  The mobile app, ASCIonline is currently available on Android and iOS.
With this new app, now lodging and tracking of complaints against misleading advertisements has become easier. The app enables consumers to lodge complaints by simply providing advertisement details and the objection to the particular ad. Users can also attach files like image or video or a YouTube link of the advertisement for better clarity and to support the objection or unsubstantiated claims found by them. It is a consumer friendly app and can be downloaded free of cost.
"Today, mobile devices are more widely used compared to desktops. With growing use of smartphones, consumers want apps to put power of doing transactions in their pocket”, says ASCI chairman, Narendra Ambwani.
Other features of the app include checking history of previously registered complaints, tracking complaint status, managing profile and push notifications. There is no need to log out or log in.
