On 22 January, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the last date for the submission of comments on consultation paper related to the empanelment of auditors for digital addressable systems for broadcasting and cable sector.
The fresh dates are: comments (5 Feb), and counter comments (19 Feb). No requests for any further extension of time for submission of comments shall be entertained.
Through consultation paper issued on 22 December 2017, TRAI has sought the views of stakeholders on various audit-empanelment related issues such as the scope of the audit, eligibility criteria and experience, length of empanelment, audit fee and payment terms, the time period for completion of audit work, de-empanelment, and reporting requirements of auditors.
Initially, the deadlines were: Comments (22 Jan), and counter comments (7 Feb).
