Sling Media India to do its bit in making India 5G ready

DISH Network’s Sling Media India will work on 5G. It will build a 5G-capable narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) network to connect various types of sensors like agricultural sensors, and sensors present in smart cars and smart cities.

At present, Sling Media is available in North America, and helps video creators easily juggle between multiple high definition video inputs to produce professional live video streams for Facebook or YouTube in an affordable manner.

According to Vivek Khemka, chief technology officer, DISH Network, “Bengaluru has been a core development center for us in terms of products. As we are starting to invest in our future in terms of IoT communication, we think Bengaluru will play a big role in how we bring the products together.”

So far, DISH Network has spent more than $20 billion in acquiring wireless spectrum assets in the United States in the past few years.
