Kamala Mill Fire: Times Network channels & TV9 Marathi face disruptions; Zoom worst hit

The massive fire at the Kamala Mills Compound, Mumbai on 29 December led to 14 deaths and 19 injuries. The fire disrupted the broadcast operations of Times Network channels and Marathi news channel TV9 Marathi, as the office of the two media houses is located in close proximity to the building which was gutted by fire.


While Times Network said Times Now, Times Now HD, ET Now and Mirror Now are operational now after being off-air for some time, the English entertainment channels (Movies Now, Movies Now HD, MN+, MNX, MNX HD, Romedy Now, Romedy Now HD) and Zoom will be back on-air shortly.

While TV9 Marathi has also resumed its broadcast operations, Zoom was the worst hit as its entire office was gutted in the fire. ET Now and Mirror Now have shifted to a makeshift studio in Noida to keep the operations running. TV9 Marathi’s office was also destroyed in the fire.

According to Times Network, “Times Network is deeply saddened by the horrific fire tragedy at Mumbai’s Kamala Mills, where the Network’s office is located. Our deepest condolences and prayers to the families, of those killed and injured in the accident. The magnitude of the fire was huge, disrupting our operations temporarily. Al our employees were evacuated safely.”
