Travelxp to launch 4K HDR channel in India; to launch in UK as FTA

Travelxp, the travel and lifestyle channel, is going to debut in the UK on 30 April as a free to air (FTA) service on Freeview UK platform. As per company’s claims, the distribution on Freeview will allow the channel to reach close to 16 million homes.


Unlike other markets, channel will follow the ad model in the UK. In all other markets, it follows the subscription model. The channel’s ad inventory has already been sold out.

Also, the Prashant Chothani-promoted Celebrities Management Pvt Ltd (CMPL), owner of Travelxp, is planning to launch a 4K HDR channel in India, and will also add new regional language feeds to increase the sampling of its content.

The broadcaster is awaiting licence from the ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB). Currently, the company owns and operates two channels Travelxp and Travelxp Tamil. It also has a Bangla audio feed. Going forward, it plans to add Telugu, Marathi, Kannada and Malayalam audio feeds.

CMPL CEO Prashant Chothani said: “We are waiting to get the licence to launch 4K HDR offering. We will also add regional feeds gradually in Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, and Malayalam. We are available in Hindi, Tamil, and Bangla.”
