MIB okays live Uplinking of IPL matches

On 6 April, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has given its permission for temporary live uplinking of the IPL matches which are starting on April 7.


The Ministry said: "Permission for temporary live uplinking o IPL tournament has been granted."

The Board of Control for Cricket in Indian or the BCCI had written to Union Minister Smriti Irani seeking her intervention in getting the nod for live uplinking of the Indian Premium League (IPL).

Matches are usually telecast deferred live but this move will help in broadcast of IPL matches in real time.
