TRAI conducted Seminar on "Smart Phone Usage in Internet Age"

On 2 February, the telecom regulator TRAI organized a Seminar on the topic "Smart Phone Usage in Internet Age” in Lucknow through its regional office Bhopal.


The Seminar was inaugurated by Anil Kaushal, Member, TRAI. Delivering his keynote address on the occasion, Anil Kaushal spoke how smart phones are facilitating internet penetration and growth of data consumption in the country, revolutionising various sectors of economy like health, agriculture, education etc., fuelling "app" economy and even assisting persons with disabilities. He emphasised that smart phones are enabling consumers to become part of digital eco-system, helping m bridging the digital divide; becoming an enabler of growth and tools to achieve vision of digital India of our Hon'ble Prime Minister. He further dwelt upon various safeguards to be kept in mind while using a smart phone.

In the Seminar topics like Smartphone Usage, Mobile governance, Digital Payments, Mobile Security, Role of Smart Phone in Societal Development, and E-KYC were presented by distinguished speakers drawn from various departments of state government, NPCI, NEC, IIM Lucknow and Department of Telecommunications. The participants were benefited."

Around 250 participants from Lucknow Management ASSOCIATION, ASSOCHAM, Bharat Jyoti, Consumer Guild, NGOs, Educational institutions, Members of Industry and Consumer Advocacy Groups (CAGs) attended the seminar.
