UP Government may slash entertainment tax

With the few days left for upcoming general election every politician and political party wants to present themselves or their party with a positive outfit and hence the media role is crucial for this. In such a scenario, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has come up with a mind game to hide the flaws of Samajwadi Party from innocent peoples.
Akhilesh Yadav comes up with an unusual love for cable TV operators in the state including Den, Digi, Citi, WILL and Hathway networks ahead of the Lok Sabha polls 2014. Sources claim that UP government soon will slash the entertainment tax from Rs 37.50 to Rs 10 per connection.

UP government’s special privilege to these cable operators come despite their active participation in the entertainment tax evasion. The subsidy has been provided apparently to receive reciprocated benefits from these TV cable operators. In a bid to dominate the broadcasting of channels, state government has come up with such scheme which would bring these cable operators into its pocket.
Sources claim that the government wants to directly control the broadcasting of news channels ahead of the general elections. As government takes special care of these cable networks, in return they also will have to serve the government with what it demands. Sources add that few media houses are reporting the anti-SP news, which has become a serious concern for the party ahead of the LS polls. To halt the broadcasting, Akhilesh Yadav and his group of cabinet ministers apparently have come up with the subsidy scheme in entertainment tax to tighten their grip over the cable operators.
