Tamil News channel Puthiya Thalaimurai’s office attacked

On 12 March 2015, Tamil news channel Pudhiya Thalaimurai at Ekkaduthangal attacked by two crude bombs. No one got injured in the incident. Around 3 a.m. four men on two motorcycles reached outside the office and hurled the bombs in the compound, packed in tiffin boxes. The first bomb hit the compound wall while the other fell in front of the office building. Both blew with a loud noise, shocking security guards and media persons on night duty. Being low intensity, the blast did not injure anyone.
The police captured the images of the attackers by installed CCTV camera, but the images are dark and shadowy. On 8 March, a cameraman was attacked outside the Pudiyathalaimurai office by the group opposing the telecast of a debate on the value of the 'thali' for a woman. The assailants were later arrested. Police suspect the bomb attack could be in retaliation to the arrests. Guindy police have registered a case and started its functioning.
Media industry condemned the attack severely and journalist unions are planning to protest against this matter and also urging stringent police action against the suspects.
