KCOA to boycott Reliance Channels on 31 March

The Kerala Cable TV Operators Association will boycott channels controlled by Reliance on March 31 in protest against Kerala State Electricity Board’s (KSEB) decision to rent out its electric posts exclusively to the private firm.
On 28 March, N. H Anwar, President of KCOA, said, that the operators would not telecast CNN-IBN, CNBC, COLORS, MTV, and ETV channels. The association will also stage a demonstration before the KSEB office at Pattom on 31 March.
The move by the KSEB to lease out electric posts across the State to Reliance will cut into the business of small cable operators. “It is clear favouritism to the private firm and the deal involves corruption,” Mr. Anwar said.
