Indian DTH operators using total of 77.89 KU-Band Transponders

Indian DTH operators are using a total of 77.89 KU-Band transponders (19 in INSAT/GSAT satellites & 58.89 leased from foreign satellites) for DTH services in India. Foreign satellites are being used as the capacity of KU-Band is insufficient.
The commercial, societal and defence service users are using their allocated capacity as per their usage plan. The allocation process is in progress for about 46 transponders (in C, Extended-C and KU-Band), which are vacant at present.
