Hearing in 2G case deferred to August 3

The hearing of 2G spectrum allocation case related to DMK MP Kanimozhi, former Telecom Minister A. Raja and DMK president M. Karunanidhi’s wife Dayalu Ammal has been deferred to August 3.
The Defence lawyers said to court of Special CBI Judge O.P. Saioni that they were unable to appear before the court due to ongoing lawyers’ strike.  Moreover they have asked for more time to file the reply of 400 questions given to them.
Both Mr. A. Raja and Ms. Kanimozhi, who are out on bail in an earlier case linked to the 2G spectrum allocation scam. In this case, a charge sheet filed by the ED under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in April last said Mr. Raja, in collusion with Ms. Kanimozhi, Ms. Dayalu Ammal and the other accused, received an illegal graft of Rs. 200 crore in Kalaignar TV.
