Indian TV Fest ’12 rescheduled due to digitization deadline

The schedule of the Indian TV Fest ’12 (ITF 2012) is being rescheduled in view of the digitisation process across the metros by the Indian Broadcasting Foundation. The ITF was earlier scheduled November 2 and 3, 2012 in Goa.
Digitisation of cable TV being considered as a very step in the Indian television industry and efforts are on to make sure there is no loss of focus for the same due to other events. The Information and Broadcasting ministry as well as the broadcast industry is also taking keen interest in the same. The Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), has decided to focus towards a successful roll-out of digitization so there is no distraction for the process.

The rescheduling was announced by Mr Uday Shankar, IBF President and STAR India CEO who told the media, “We, at IBF, are committed towards the successful implementation of digitisation. At this stage, our priority is to ensure that we put in all the industry might behind digitisation so that it is successfully completed by the sunset date of November 1, 2012. We understand the importance of this date for the television broadcasting industry; hence IBF has deferred ITF to a new date.”
“I would also like to add that from the time we announced Indian TV Fest’12, we have received encouraging support from industry peers, sponsors, media and delegates who have registered with us. This overwhelming response is an indication to the enthusiasm and interest for the festival. ITF has been rescheduled to a later date and will be conducted as planned,” he added. The rescheduled dates for the Indian TV Fest have not been announced as yet and will be announced soon.
