Viacom18 to scale up revenue to INR 10,000-Cr in five years; focus on digital & Tamil

Viacom18, which is going to launch a Tamil channel on 19 February, has some big aims in terms of revenue growth; it aims to scale up its revenue to INR 10000 crore by focusing on digital and Tamil.

Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. is a joint venture between TV18 and Viacom Inc. of the U.S. The JV, in 2016-17, registered revenue of about  Rs 3,040 crore.

Colors Tamil will be a general entertainment channel in Tamil; this will be the main growth engine.

Viacom18 believes that success depends on regional content.
