The Budget 2018 caused a sharp jump in the English and Hindi business news channels in Week 5, as per the latest BARC ratings.
English genre: While popular business channel CNBC TV18’s weekly impressions rose up to 14.24 lakh compared to 6.54 lakh impressions in the previous week, ET Now’s impressions jumped to 6.08 lakh from 1.9 lakh. BTVI’s weekly impressions too rose up to 1.1 lakh from 0.9 lakh.
Hindi Genre:Awaazgot 31.69 lakh impressions compared to 20 lakh and Zee Business’ jumped to 8.66 lakh from 8.5 lakh. Non-business Hindi new channels too saw a sharp jump during Budget. India TV has jumped to number 2 position in urban HSM in week 5 of BARC ratings. Zee News has dropped to number 3 while ABP News and News18 India have swapped positions.
Republic TV’s impression came down to 7.57 lakh from its previous 9.01 lakh impressions followed by Times Now and India Today TV whose impression dropped to 6.36 lakh and 2.43 lakh.
