Verimatrix partners with Slovak Telekom for OTT security

Conditional access module specialist SMiT and content security provider Verimatrix have struck an agreement to integrate a cardless version of SMiT’s CI+ 1.3 CAM with the Verimatrix ViewRight client library.
According to SMiT, the CI+ 1.3 CAM will be a cardless product integrating Verimatrix’s client security technology, enabling end-users to watch encrypted TV programmes with no need for a smartcard. Operators will not need to apply the CAM-smartcard pairing process while ensuring secure transmission.

According to SMiT, the CAM fully complies with the CI+ 1.3 standard, enabling interactive features such as hybrid video-on-demand and catch-up TV.
”SMiT was the first to introduce the Verimatrix CAM to the market, and today, we are happy to be the first again to deploy the Verimatrix ViewRight client security technology in our CAM products,” said Stephen He, executive vice-president, SMiT. ”The seamless cooperation guarantees SMiT’s highly secure product strategy for operators and compelling interactive experience for subscribers. I believe that this innovative and consumer-oriented product will be a great success in the market.”
