Police on 14 September arrested the Input Editor Ravi and stringer Akhtar of Zee 24 Gantalu news channel in connection with a case booked against them for airing a news story highlighting DGP V. Dinesh Reddy’s meeting with a godman Habib Mustafa Idrus Baba.
“We have produced the Input Editor Ravi and stringer Akthar at the residence of magistrate in Saidabad who remanded them to 13 days judicial custody,” Hussainialam Inspector G. Ranveer Reddy said.
He said cases under Sections 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class), 500 and 505 (2) of IPC were registered against the duo.
The duo was planning to file a bail petition in the court on 16 September.
