Star India to launch new channel on September 25

Broadcasting major Star India said that it will launch a new English general entertainment channel — Star World Premiere HD — on 25 September.

Star World Premier HD will air 26 new and returning shows from four of the biggest global television studios in high definition (HD), the company said in a statement.

The channel will be available on Tata Sky HD.

Star India has always focused on innovative strategies to provide entertainment to its viewers and the launch of Star World Premiere HD is an endeavour in this direction, he added.

The channel will see the launch of new shows like Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The Michael J Fox Show, The Blacklist, The Goldbergs and Sleepy Hollow and returning shows Homeland, Castle, Revenge, White Collar, Modern Family, The Simpsons, Glee and Two & A Half Men, among others.

Star India already runs English GECs Star World and Star World HD in India.

The Star India network comprises more than 40 channels in seven languages viewed by over 600 million viewers. Its portfolio includes Channel [V], Life OK, Movies OK, Star Gold, Star Movies, Star Movies Action, Star Utsav and Star Plus.
