Tata Sky reduces price of HD set top box to Rs 2,000

DTH service provider Tata Sky announced reduction in price of its high definition (HD) set top box to Rs 2,000 from Rs 3,100 earlier.
Now, Tata Sky HD set top boxes will be available at the price of a standard definition (SD) set top box, the company said in a statement.

Tata Sky, Chief Commercial Officer Vikram Mehra said, "Tata Sky has been a strong believer in the potential of the HD segment in India and has played a pioneering role in growing it. Equating the price of the HD box to an SD box will further accelerate the adoption of HD service."
