MSO registration deadline for Phase III extended to 6 Feb

I&B Ministry has extended the cut-off date for multi-system operator (MSO) registration for Phase III of digital addressable system (DAS) to 6 February 2015.
The deadlines have been extended to allow MSOs in far flung area to get additional time for registration and to avoid any legal issues on account of denial of registration to those MSOs whose applications were received after the earlier due date.
As reported in Cable Quest earlier, the Ernakulam High Court in Kerala on 16 December had asked the Ministry to take a decision with in six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the judgment delivered in the case of Kollam Cables putted V/s Union of India where the former had appealed to the Ministry that there was no justification of keeping the registration deadline as 21 Dec 2014 when the deadline for Phase III had been extended to 31 December 2015.
The ministry had earlier invited applications for MSO registration by 21 December. However, there were requests from MSOs to extend the last date for submission of application.
To register, applicants have to submit duly-filled Form 6 (in triplicate) along with enclosures/documents and a processing fee to the MIB. The applicants need to provide details of the company/firm, directors/key executives and shareholding pattern in the prescribed proforma.
