CQ- Raj TV records 39 per cent profit in FY 14

Chennai-based Raj Television Network has recorded a net profit of Rs 12.91 crore (Rs 129.1 million) for the fiscal ended 31 March 2014, up 39 per cent from the earlier-year.
Sales turnover grew 42.5 per cent to Rs 79.46 crore ( Rs 794.6 million).
Operating revenue surpassed analysts’ expectations, helping the company to push up its operating margins.
The company did manage to check operating costs, but higher employee costs and other operating expenses prevented it from reporting a stronger growth in bottom line.
Raj Television Network operates television channels, including Raj TV—an entertainment channel, Raj Digital Plus—an exclusive movie channel, Raj Musix—a music channel in Tamil as well as in Kannada, and Raj News 24×7.
Raj TV and Raj Digital Plus, which are free to air (FTA) in Chennai, are pay channels elsewhere. Raj Musix and Raj News are also FTA channels. The company broadcasts Vissa channel, and is also engaged in production and distribution of movies.
