Airtel’s brings a common mobile app for smartphone, DTH users

Bharti Airtel has launched a ‘my airtel’ app for Airtel customers in the country, and the app will be made available to the Indian consumers free of cost by the company. Through this app, the consumers will be able to check the outstanding bills of mobile, fixed line, DTH services, and will be able to recharge their accounts, make payment, activate deactivate any service; raise requests-complaints, with just a tap, or click of a button across all those mobile devices.
Airtel digital TV customers would also now be able to order movies and games through the mobile app. The mobile application can be downloaded by the customers simply by logging into airtel.in/myairtel or visiting their device app store as well. The usual download charges depending on the subscriber data connection will be applicable for downloading and accessing the app. For non-Airtel Internet users, they will have to pay a one-time SMS charge for authentication to their respective telecom operators.

For example, even if a customer is Vodafone customer, he or she can still download the myairtel app and check their latest Airtel broadband bill on their smartphones or tablets and pay the bill through the smartphone as well. The users therefore would not have to access Internet on their laptops or call customer care for the purpose.
"We realised that mobile phone users found it more convenient to use apps against the browser for accessing services. Our app uses the cellphone number as a backbone and intuitively picks up all Airtel services associated with it and puts it on the app, giving the user seamless access," said Bharti Airtel's president for consumer business K Srinivas.
