Playcast Media, an Israeli provider of cloud gaming services, looks set to boost its business considerably after signing partnerships with three of the world’s biggest set-top box vendors.
The deal will see Playcast integrate its cloud gaming service into the set-top boxes of UK firm Pace, US firm Cisco and Turkey’s Airties, for instant streaming to cable and IPTV subscribers.
The three set-top box vendors together represent a total additional install base of over 100mn households worldwide, on top of existing partnerships with Korea’s Samsung and French firm Sagemcom.
Playcast Media revealed a few days ago that it has signed an agreement with NVIDIA to run its services on the latter’s GeForce GRUD cloud gaming platform, and that the first customer to benefit will be French telco Bouygues Telecom, with 1.3mn customers.
