BBC’s COO Caroline Thomson shall be leaving the position and the public broadcaster at the end of the month. The senior team of the BBC is being restructured and the position of Chief Operating Officer is being closed by BBC's new DG George Entwistle.
Caroline Thomson started her career as a journalism trainee in 1975, and produced many of the BBC radio and television series. She joined Channel 4 in 1984, and went on to become Head of Corporate Affairs. She joined BBC again in 1996 as Deputy Director of the BBC World Service. She has delivered BBC's major infrastructure projects including digital switch-over, development of the BBC's two main sites in central and west London and more.
