Telangana MSOs refused to yield to the I & B Ministry warning on transmission of TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy news channels in Telangana area. However in this case the Government has not taken any action against these two channels for hurting the sentiment of Telangna People, said Subash Reddy, president, Multi-System Operator Association.
Earlier the I & B Minister and TRAI had sent show-cause notice to the Telangana MSOs over the ban of said channels in Telangana state.
Prior writing to the MSOs, the Ministry had also written a letter to Telangana Government seeking an explanation for the ban of channels. The Government had issued the notice under Cable TV Network Rules, 1994.
There are over 150 MSOs across the 10 districts of Telangana
