CQ-Hyderabad HC rejects petition of Telugu Channel ABN

Hyderabad High Court on 25th July has rejected the petition filed by Telugu Channel ABN seeking resumption of the channel telecast in Telangana State. The petition was filed by the channel Associate Editor DHVSSN Murthy.
Giving its directions on the writ petition HC said that the issue should have been tackled through other legal remedies but not through a writ petition.
Meanwhile on the same day LB Nagar Police have filed a petition seeking permission to summon TV9 CEO Raviprakash to court. Justice B Sivasankara Rao posting the hearing to 30 July has asked the counsel of the petitioner to file counter affidavit immediately.
Earlier Telangana multi-system operators (MSOs) had blocked the transmission of the channels for allegedly attacking the Telugu language and dialect and for insulting the Telangana Assembly and its legislators.
