Amino scores with C Spire for IPTV media centre

Broadcast technology provider Amino Communication is celebrating landing a major US order with C Spire for its IPTV set-tops and media hubs.
The Mississippi-based telco and technology services company has selected Amino's Intel-based IPTV platform for the roll-out of entertainment services across its 1Gbps fibre Internet access network. Specifically it will deploy Amino's Live Advanced Media Centre and A140 devices as part of a triple-play offering.

Powered by the Intel dual core ATOM processor, the Live platform is Amino's latest generation home media hub for multiscreen and multi-stream delivery around the home. It offers support for catch-up TV services, video-on-demand, social and user-generated content as well PVR and Wi-Fi capability. Moreover the Live Advanced Media Platform can also record up to seven channels and then play out content securely over a home network.
"Fibre to the home is a next-generation technology that will help Mississippi cities become hubs for future investment and growth," said Gregg Logan, chief technology officer for C Spire. "Working with Amino to boost the effectiveness, reach and variety of applications available on our next-generation platform will help ensure that we fulfil our promise to transform communities and improve the overall quality of life in these communities."
