LinkedIn launches new mobile phone app

Online professional networking service LinkedIn launched on 18 April its new mobile phone application (app). The new application makes it easier for members to get relevant and timely professional insights.
According to a release issued by LinkedIn, the new mobile application will feature a richer and more visual stream with news updates, a personalised navigation page that includes adding short-cuts, and offers easier ways to join and engage in professional conversations by liking and commenting.

Available on both Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android operating system, the application will make it easier for smartphone users to interact i.e. ‘liking’ or ‘commenting’.
In short, the new design tries to figure out the features and topics that are most appealing to a user and ensure that those services are easily available. The new application will also display photos and other graphics more prominently, giving it a feel similar to that of Facebook.
This will be the company’s first major change in 20 months. It currently, has nearly 200 million users worldwide.
