Nodal officer for digitisation of cable network in Indore, ADM Alok Singh on April 1clarified that analogue signals of channels would be discontinued phase wise in the city in the next few days.
The deadline for digitisation of cable network in Indore among 38 cities of the country was over on March 31 midnight. The cable subscribers were however relieved as the telecast was not blacked out despite passing of the deadline.
Singh said, ‘He has discussed the matter with officials from Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) and the digitisation would continue as per the schedule. The analogue signals of various channels would be blacked out in phases in next few days and the Multi System Operators (MSOs) would be free to decide this schedule.
Officially, set top boxes are to be installed with 3.94 lakh subscribers in Indore, he added.
