Jabalpur Operators protest new RIO rates of Star TV

Hike in rates of Star TV group channels after it migrated to RIO agreement system is facing lot of protest from Cable Operators and MSOs.
Most of the MSOs in DAS areas are shifting to the new RIO system offering Star TV channels only on a-la-carte rates. However, LCOs are finding it difficult to convince the subscribers to accept these rates, which are very high. This has resulted in LCOs protesting in many DAS cities.
In Jabalpur on 25 November cable operators welfare association submitted a memorandum to SDM, Mr. Rajesh Jain regarding the increased rates and their difficulty in offering Star TV channels to subscribers.
Operators also stayed a mass protest in the civic centre on 25 November 2014.
