Hathway recorded revenue up in Q2 FY15

Multi System Operator (MSO), Hathway Cable & Datacom recorded a 20 per cent hike in revenues in Q2 FY 2015. The MSO’s revenue went up from Rs. 2,202 million in Q2 FY14 to Rs 2,635 million in Q2 FY15.
Hathway’s carriage revenue was recorded at Rs 82.4 crore in the second quarter. Carriage continued to account for 31 per cent of the MSO’s total revenue. Operating revenue for Hathway this quarter saw a 5.2 per cent quarter-on-quarter rise to Rs 263.5 crore. Collection from activation charges totaled Rs 22.1 crore in the quarter. Hathway’s subscription revenue stood at Rs 111 crore.
The company reported loss of Rs 39.26 crore in Q2-2015, as compared to the loss of Rs 0.927 crore in Q2 FY14. The current quarter’s loss was recorded lower than the loss of Rs 44.45 crore for Q2-2014. Hathway’s HY-2015 (year to date) loss increased slightly to Rs 40.19 crore from Rs 39.13 crore in HY-2014.
Hathway’s operating profit (EBITDA) was recorded lower at Rs 40 crore, as against Rs 43.9 crore in the trailing quarter.
Hathway’s pay channel cost increased by nearly 13 per cent to Rs 96.8 crore. In the previous quarter (Q1), it was at Rs 85.8 crore.
Hathway’s broadband revenues in Q2FY15 expanded 9.13 per cent quarter-on-quarter to Rs 45.4 crore compared to Rs 41.6 crore in the first quarter.
Standalone net debt of Hathway Cable & Datacom recorded at Rs 896.2 crore in the second quarter of the fiscal ended 30 September 2014.
