Prasar Bharati and the Australian Network signed a new carriage agreement

Prasar Bharati and the Australian Network have signed a new carriage agreement to strengthen the partnership between the two public broadcasters. Australia Network is Australia’s International Television Service, beaming 24x7 to more than 40 countries across Asia, the Pacific and Indian subcontinent. It’s missions are to promote television and digital service that informs, entertains and inspires audience, with a unique Australian perspective.
With this agreement, ABC International will be available for our DTH viewers on DD Direct Plus from 1st of November and reach to a wider audience. The agreement was signed by Ms Lynley Marshall, CEO, ABC International and Jawhar Sircar, CEO, Prasar Bharati. With this agreement DD, fulfils a part of its public service mandate to develop knowledge, broaden horizon and showcase the diverse culture of Australia.

At present DD is offering 59 channels in its bouquet on DTH platform ranging from general entertainment to current affairs, films and music channel. Due to variety of package DTH platform is receiving rich patronage from our viewers. The number will increase from 59 to 97 channels shortly.
