Prasar Bharatihas appointed Dr. A Surya Prakash as the chairman for a second consecutive term. The veteran journalist Dr. Prakash was first appointed as chairman on 28 October 2014. His first term ended in October 2017.
Dr. Prakash has held key positions in print and electronic media organisations. Some of the senior positions he has held over the years include editor of Zee News, executive editor of ‘The Pioneer’, India editor of ‘The Asia Times’ (a business and political daily published from Bangkok and Singapore), political editor of the Eenadu Group of newspapers, and chief of bureau of ‘The Indian Express’ in New Delhi.
