Janasri appoints S Divaakar as Business Head

Kannada news channel Janasri, operating under the Yash Broadcasting Industries banner, has appointed S Divaakar as the Business Head. He joins the channel today and will be based in Bangalore. 

Divaakar’s mandate is to supervise the overall revenue growth at the national level.

In his earlier role, he was with Associated Broadcasting Company’s TV9 – his second stint here – as VP – Advertisements and National Sales. Prior to this, he worked with Writemen Media that runs Public TV, in the capacity of VP – Sales and Marketing. 

TR Manjunath, Channel Head, elaborated on bringing Divaakar on board. “My association with Divaakar dates back to the year 2000 when I launched my first channel. Since then, he has gone on to handle various roles in the regional and national sphere. He has gained great experience, is very capable, more confident, and his work is of high calibre. He also knows the team well and has assessed our content. We plan to launch a couple of regional channels in the near future. We have brought Divaakar on board to consolidate and drive business for the entire network.” 

Divaakar began his career at Udaya TV close to 18 years ago. He has worked across regions for a diverse channel bouquet – Gemini TV, Jaya TV, ETC, ZEE Network, Sahara One, Filmy, and TV9 Network.
