Berhampur district administration seals MSO Ortel’s office

The Behrampur office of multi system operator (MSO) Ortel Communications has been sealed by the district administration for alleged violation of fire safety norms and trade license.As per reports from Odisha TV, the sub-collector and the commissioner of the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) raided the office on 26 April.


BeMC commissioner Chakravarti Singh Rathore said: “Their operations were violating several norms. We had earlier warned them. The building has been seized based on violation of the norms.”

Ortel Communications Public Relations Officer Rajendra Kumar Das reacted: “We had received a notice from the BeMC Commissioner regarding trade license. Then they told us that we were not adhering to fire safety norms. On Thursday, the district administration and the BeMC officials forcibly sealed our control room. We are yet to know the actual reason behind the action,”

He added: “We are fortunate that today we got a stay order against the sealing from the Orissa High Court.”
