Arirang TV signs MOU with Indian public Broadcaster Doordarshan

Arirang TV, Korea’s only global television network, has signed an MOU with Indian public broadcaster Doordarshan, blazing a new trail for the exchange of content.
The CEOs from the two stations met in New Delhi on 17 January and agreed to an exchange that will foster cultural ties between Korea and India.

Korea’s minister of science, ICT and future planning Choi Mun-kee also took part in the event to celebrate the MOU.
Under the agreement, Arirang and Doordarshan aim to make their global channels available on satellite providers in both nations by 2014.
While the MOU was being signed, a documentary produced by Arirang TV was being aired on Doordarshan throughout India.
The documentary explains the vision for the so-called “creative economy”, which Korean President Park Geun-hye has advocated since the very beginning of her term in February 2013.
