Amazon’s new Kindle device, a threat to iPad

Amazon.com’s next Kindle device, expected to be launched in the coming months, can pose a big threat to Apple’s iPad. The latest iteration of its Kindle e-book reader will have an improved interface and double as a tablet computer, with a touch screen in full colour.
By taking advantage of its ties with media and publishing companies to pack the Kindle tablet with songs, books and videos, Amazon may succeed where companies such as Research In Motion and Hewlett-Packard have failed.

The Amazon tablet will probably run Google’s Android operating platform, which already supports Amazon’s application store.
