On 19 March, the Madras High Court reserved its verdict on a writ petition filed by Karti Chidambaram, son of the former Union Minister P. Chidambaram, challenging a Look Out Circular against him by the Bureau of Immigration under the Union Home Ministry on June 16, 2017, at the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation probing the INX Media case.
Madras HC’s Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Abdul Quddhose deferred their verdict as oral arguments as well as submission of written notes of their arguments had been concluded.
As a matter of fact, the FIR in the INX Media case was registered on May 15, 2017 against INX Media represented by its director Indrani Mukherjea and others, INX News represented by its director S. Pratim Mukherjea alias Peter Mukherjea and others and Chess Management Services represented by its director Karti Chidambaram.
