Pakistan is known for attacks and murders of journalists. Recently, a famous Pakistani journalist Taha Siddiqui, who happens to raise voice against the army and government, escaped an attack and abduction. He said that he was beaten and threatened with death by nearly a dozen unidentified armed men who also tried to abduct him.
The journalist is also the winner of Frances highest journalism award - The Albert Londres Prize.
The local Police confirmed that Siddiqui, who is the Pakistan bureau chief at World Is One News, approached police soon after the incident.The journalist added that attackers were armed with Kalashnikovs and pistols.
The Islamabad Police is investigating the case.
