To keep pace with the time and to speed up network deployment, addressing a longstanding grievance of carriers, the telecom department will soon shift its wireless planning and coordination (WPC) wing completely online from February.
At present, the sector that is riddled with systems, processes and procedures which delay decision-making and lead to legal battles. The online WPC wing will make processes much easier and transparent for all telcos.
WPC is divided into major sections such as Licensing and Regulation (LR), New Technology Group (NTG) and Standing Advisory Committee for Frequency Allocation SACFA, which makes recommendations on major frequency allocation issues and formulation of the frequency allocation plan, among other functions.
