Veteran music director Ravindra Jain no more

Veteran music director-singer-lyricist passed away at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai on 9 October 2015 due to multiple organ failure. He was 71. He is survived by his wife and poet Divya Jain and son Ayushmaan.
Jain had a close association with some of Mumbai’s biggest production houses and worked with Raj Kapoor, Rajshri Films, Ramand Sagar among others. He also composed for middle-of-the-road cinema, and gave hits like Gori Tera Gaon Bada Pyara and Jab Deep Jale Aana (Chitchor) sung by Yesudas.
He was honoured with Padmashri in 2015. Though he was nominated for his score in Chitchor, and Ankhiyon Ke Zarokhon Se, he won the Film Fare award for Best Music Director for Raj Kapoor-directed 1985 film Ram Teri Ganga Maili.
