Nearly one year after Comcast teamed with Adobe to let subscribers watch authenticated programming from the London Summer Olympics without using a login, the MSO said its entire TV Everywhere lineup can be accessed automatically through a new Home Pass feature.
Comcast's automatic in-home authentication product is based on the Adobe Pass authentication platform, and only works when subscribers use its Xfinity.com/TV portal from Web browsers on devices within their own homes.
SVP of Digital and Emerging Platforms Matt Strauss hinted that Comcast could soon expand the automatic login function to apps it has built for mobile devices. "We're already starting to look at ways to extend Home Pass to additional platforms in the future," Strauss wrote in a blog post.
Comcast also recently launched Facebook Connect, which lets subscribers navigate TV Everywhere content by linking their Comcast.net accounts to Facebook accounts.
