Discovery India opts out of monthly TV ratings reporting

Further to our report of 15th July on the TAM stand off between broadcasters and advertisers where eight broadcasters had opted for monthly ratings, latest unconfirmed reports are that Discovery India – which has three channels under its belt - has retracted and done a U-turn opting for weekly TRP now.
It has written back to TAM saying it would like reporting of its channels to revert to a weekly basis once again.

Today was the last day when the big advertisers had planned to withdrawn all ads from broadcasters who do not accept weekly ratings points.
