Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court will hear Malwa Cable Operators Sangh’s plea on 1 July, against increased subscription fee demanded by multi system operators (MSO).
According to Malwa Cable Operators Sangh, and association of LCOs of Indore region, the MSOs have increased subscription twice raising it by 100 per cent each time since January 2014. Since it is impossible for LCOs to force subscribers to pay this increased subscription, they have requested the Court to stay the hike.
It may be recollected that the LCOs in Indore are very active fighting against unfair regulation of TRAI and have already filed many petitions on collection of CAF form, MSOs monopoly, Mandatory digitalisation, poor quality STBs and inflated billing in the DAS regime in the Indore bench of MP High Court. TRAI and all MSOs are defendants in the cases and on 26the April 2014 they were asked to file their replies within eight weeks.
