German TV channel Da Vinci Learning would start broadcasting in India from early October this year. The Berlin-based broadcaster, which is present in 35 countries, is expecting a license by the end of August this year to beam its kid’s knowledge channel.
Da Vinci Learning MD Mohit Anand told PTI that, Da Vinci will get license by the end of the August and after that it would convert it into a full channel by early October. He further said that at the initial period the channel will target children aged between 6 to 12 years and will focused on top 12 cities.
The channel would be in English, however, it may also consider having some shows in vernacular languages. Da Vinci would have a mix of Indian as well as foreign content.
However, he declined to share the quantum of investment which the German firm is making in India. Presently, Da Vinci’s content are on air through Airtel DTH under video-on-demand service.
